Over the years, golf technology has seen dramatic development. Looking back at the sticks even the most professional golfers used back in the day is like a trip back in time. Now, the wooden clubs are simply relics of the past.
Well, relics of the past until we at BarDown get our hands on them. We’re bringing back the lumber, baby!
Our two resident golfers – Cam Brennan and Eric Kirk – have always competed on the links. With Cam being significantly better than Eric, he is usually dealt some sort of major disadvantage to even out the playing field. In this particular video, Cam is tasked with playing a round using 1970’s gear.
That includes his clubs, the golf balls, and even his clothes.
Meanwhile, Eric was given a set of brand new 2024 clubs to take his best swing at Baxter’s Creek Golf Club.
So who would emerge victorious; A great golfer using 50-year-old clubs, or a worse golfer using the new stuff?
Okay so as it turns out, the golf balls couldn’t really handle a round of golf 50 years later. No bother for Cam, though. When you’re skilled, you’re skilled!
